Tromboncino Squash
We're excited to feature the Orange Pippins Seed Society, a handpicked collection of flower and vegetable seeds chosen by our friend, Bria, for their simplicity, beauty, and taste:
BIG fun! This Italian heirloom has it all. Gorgeous edible flowers! Summer squash! Winter squash! Humorous shapes!
No other plant will make you feel like such a rockstar gardener. Tromboncino, or Zucchetta Rampicante, is, in a word, hilarious. You won’t believe these curvy trombone-shaped fruits. You could easily be satisfied growing them as curiosities, but thankfully they’re also delicious. You have three chances to eat them--as squash blossoms, as a sweet zucchini, OR left on the vine to harden off to eat as a Winter squash. I’ve even had them candied--talk about versatile!
