❤️ Every bag is carbon and plastic neutral
  • NUTRIENT DENSE: Boosts soil aeration, drainage, and nutrient uptake to help drought-tolerant flourish.
  • RESEALABLE: Plastic neutral packaging in convenient sizes for cactus and succulent parents.
  • SUSTAINABLE: Made from eco-friendly, high-quality ingredients (biochar, pumice, compost, mycorrhizae, pine bark fines, sand) and is free from peat & synthetic additives.
  • LIVING SOIL: Fortified with beneficial fungi & microbes to help promote healthy root development and lush foliage.
  • MISSION-DRIVEN: Our carbon-neutral blend helps fight climate change and is perfect for all types of cacti and succulents.

Biochar is a horticultural charcoal that holds onto oxygen and nutrients while also storing microbes and carbon in the soil.

Pumice is a naturally occurring volcanic rock that is lightweight and porous, helping to improve soil drainage and aeration.

Mycorrhizae are beneficial microorganisms that form a symbiotic relationship with plant roots, allowing the plants to absorb more nutrients.

Sand has large grain size, coarse texture, and high silica content to support soil drainage.

Pine Bark Fines are a byproduct of the mulch industry which enhance soil structure and improve aeration.

Compost helps reduce waste in landfills by turning green waste and wood waste into a useful source of nutrients for plants.

PRE-MOISTEN

To make the transition easier for your plant roots, we recommend pre-moistening Rosy Soil. Slowly sprinkle water over the soil in a separate container until it is slightly moist. Work through any dry pockets and aim for light, even moisture throughout the mix.

POT OR RE-POT

Select a well-draining planter and partially fill with a base of pre-moistened Rosy Soil.

PLANT

Gently release your plant from its current container, loosen its roots, and center into the pot. Fill the remaining space with Rosy Soil, leaving an inch at the top for easy watering.

WATER

After planting, it is best to wait a week or two before watering to allow the roots time to adjust to their new environment. We recommend bottom watering, with an occasional top watering to refresh the soil.

At Rosy, our entire supply chain has a net neutral carbon footprint!

How?

We maintain an eco-friendly system (from production to delivery) by curating the most sustainable ingredients (like carbon negative biochar), packing processes, and shipping.

In fact, every bag of Rosy indoor mix helps captures CO2 from the carbon cycle.

So, our cactus & succulent potting mix is a positive resource for your indoor garden and the environment.

FAQs

Peat moss has been a common ingredient in commercial potting mixes since the 1960s. However, it's obtained by extracting peat bogs, which are vital ecosystems that store carbon. At Rosy, we believe there's a better way. So, we've developed our blends with alternatives that are effective and sustainable.

Rosy’s indoor potting soil is all-natural, peat free, and made from biochar.

We’ve consciously sourced our ingredients not only because they’re great for your plants but also because they’re good for our planet

Unlike traditional potting soil ingredients that are environmentally taxing, our biochar potting mix only contains natural and carbon-negative amendments.

Read additional information about Our Mission.

We use carbon-negative, organic ingredients to create the best indoor plant potting mix.

Typically, these organic materials are sent to a landfill, where they release methane and CO2 — two potent greenhouse gases. But by redirecting these organic materials from landfills and stabilizing their carbon structure, we prevent the release of those greenhouse gases.

Essentially, we turn our soil into a carbon sink, which means it helps to remove CO2 from the atmosphere.

Discover more about what we mean by Earth Positive on Our Mission page.

Yes! You can add Rosy to your current houseplant potting soil — whether it’s an inorganic or organic potting soil mix, cactus or orchid mix, or otherwise.

Doing so will help you refresh your old soil and revive its benefits for plant care.

Alternatively, you could directly replace your current soil mix with Rosy.

Our 4 Quart bag of Rosy Cactus & Succulent Mix will fill:

2 to 3 medium 6" pots

And unlike traditional potting mixes, you won’t need to replace the soil every year due to compaction.

GREAT dirt mix for cactus and succulents!

This is a great dirt replacer for starving succulents! It's made mine green up and I can actually see a little bit of brown disappearing. I have had this one little cactus for about 10 years now that has grown LONG and reaching for more dirt. It's made me sad. I have also looked a few times for a good dirt but never purchased any. My first thing I loved was that the bag was Resealable! I have so many kinds of dirt that spill all the time in my greenhouse and I WISH they were all resealable. This was a really sandy, grainy texture but mixed with potting soil, maybe? I covered my poor little cactus up (the cat had emptied some out also) and also add some to my other succulent. I wanted to give it some time and water it to see if I noticed anything. After about a week and a half, my starving cactus definitely had more green to it and some of the brown was looking for yellow, so it's slowly healing. I don't know how far it will go but I would definitely recommend. It drains well and is apparently full of nourishment for these kinds of plants.

Love this soil!

Like the regular Rosy Soil mix, the Cactus and Succulent Mix was a pleasure to use. I love that the packaging has so much useful info. I’ll be purchasing both products again.

Cactus are now growing like weeds

I couldn't get my cactus seeds to grow further than sprouting. I replaced some of the soil they came with to the Rosy cactus and succulent sail and they took off! Before and after pictures are attached. This product is very easy to use. Genius that the bag is easily resealable!

Can use it for other types of plants

I have used the cactus soil for indoor plants that appreciate drainage. Root growth is excellent and it prevents harmful fungi from taking hold from excessive moisture. What happens below the pretty plant on top is so important. It's an unusual mixture and the plants seem to love it. The people at Rosy sure know what plants need and they make sure it's in there! I'm giving my plants a long happy life with ROSY SOIL!

Great product for my succulents.

After having such great success with the ROSY indoor potting mix, the moment I learned about the ROSY Cactus and Succulent potting mix, I knew I had to purchase it. After repotting my succulents, I noticed a significant improvement in their health and overall appearance. One of my plants immediately sprouted a flower a week later! I would definitely recommend.

They have a new loyal customer!

I’m from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, have been growing houseplants for many years. Not always with great success. I found Rosy soil at the conservatory. Bought a bag, transplanted several plants. Within a short time, the stephanotis sent out new growth. It did wonders for my clivia and brugmansia and other plants. You can tell it’s a great product unlike some other bagged soils. I didn’t read the instructions to wet it first, panicked then reached out on tik tok and promptly received answer back that it was ok. Ordered two bags and received them in a short time. They have a new loyal customer! Happy gardening.

Fast draining and synthetic free soil

Rosy soil for cactus and succulent is good in quality. It doesn’t hold the water and lets it drain which is perfect for cactus and succulent varieties of plants. It doesn’t have any smell to it. It is synthetic free. Also the soil comes in resealable bag.
