"My office manager and I each have large fiddle-leaf figs in our conference room. They’re in the same window and get watered at the same time. I repotted mine with Rosy a couple months ago and it’s grown 4 new leaves. His has had no new growth. I feel kinda guilty"

Renata B.

"It’s worth the money my plants are thriving ! no gnats [tiny flying bugs] I usually find.

It’s simply the BEST"

AmyB.

"Rosy Soil has completely transformed my houseplant game! Since switching, my plants have shown incredible growth and vitality I've never achieved with other potting soils. Even my struggling plants have bounced back to life. My plants establish quickly and show immediate signs of thriving rather than transplant shock."

Nadine B.

"I gotta say I was skeptical at first. After a week I decided to check the roots — because there were NONE on this plant when I put it in. I WAS SHOCKED. It had grown gorgeous white, fuzzy roots in a week. I will not put my monsteras and scindapsus in any other substrate from now on."

Tina

"For a while I was dealing with root rot. I switched to something more well-draining, but that ended up getting too dry too quickly — crispy leaves. Rosy Soil has been a lifesaver. I haven't experienced any root rot since switching, and my plant roots are thriving. I'm even seeing more corms and babies in my plants."

Sheila

"I transplanted a Peace Lily and a Philodendron with Rosy Soil — tutorials said Peace Lilies can droop for days or weeks after transplanting. That didn't happen at all. My Peace Lily was perky and upright just hours after transplanting. I'm so pleased with Rosy Soil!"

Rosy vs Regular Soil

Most potting soils work against your plants — dense, soggy, and a welcome mat for gnats. Rosy's biochar-powered formula keeps soil airy, moisture balanced, and gnat-resistant. Dirt that actually does its job.

A close to the perfect formulation for growing culinary herbs as I've seen

For years I ran a popular blog about indoor herb gardening. One thing my years of experience taught me was that all soils are not created the same when it comes to growing herbs. Yes, a generic bag of potting soil will be cheaper than this one. But this is no ordinary potting soil. Some of the highlights:

- This formulation contains low, gentle nutrient levels which herbs like basil, thyme, parsley, sage, and oregano prefer. Most bagged potting soils are far too rich for herbs which results in them appearing to grow lush but end up flavorless and bland with much less essential oils.

- This formulation contains Mycorrhizae, a beneficial organism that helps expand the root system, improve the uptake of phosphorus (something else important for flavor), and helps herbs tolerate drought (good for someone like me who sometimes forgets to water for too long).

- The Biochar helps aerate roots and hold nutrients. Other soils can become compact and hold too much water, which herbs hate.

- The worm castings provide gentle, plant-friendly nutrition and encourage microbial diversity. Again, the key to flavorful herbs isn't overloading it with fertilizer, but supporting steady, moderate growth which worm castings are ideal for.

- Finally, the inclusion of pine bark provides additional airflow to the roots and prevents soil from becoming too compact.

Comparing this to standard garden soil (which often retains far too much water) or garden soil formulated for vegetables (which…

Discover your green thumbs in a generously filled, affordable bag!

Are you someone who thinks they have no luck/ skill when it comes to growing plants?

No one is born with a green thumb, it is earned through trial and error, research, or with direct guidance of someone with who has put in the time.

Many storebought soil blends ride market trends, so they may not necessarily contain "what plants crave", instead they add in whatever amendment is creating a buzz.

ROSY is a company I took a chance on several years ago and once I popped open my first bag....instant trust!

I encourage you to pick a bag from their store page and compare it head-to-head with any "legacy" store bought brand.

ROSY soils are alive and primed to make instant connections with your plant companions.

Mycorrhizae fungi, contained in ROSY soils, is like a cheat code for growing vibrant plants.

I've been growing plants and fungi since I was a teenager (in my 40s now), so when I tell you this is as good as a soil mix can get, believe me. Is it more expensive than other soils you find at big box store? Possibly maybe, but YOU ABSOLUTELY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR HERE.

I could go on and on, but who wants to read a dissertation when all they want to do is baby their plants?

Pest free, works well, good balance

The Rosy Soil Herb Mix is an excellent choice if you're looking to give your indoor or outdoor herbs a real boost. The mix feels fresh and doesn't have any of those weird, unwanted smells you sometimes get with organic soils. It's a blend of biochar, worm castings, and compost, which hits that perfect balance of holding enough moisture while still letting the roots breathe.

One of the best things about this soil is that it's peat-free and naturally less prone to pests. It’s a huge relief to find a soil that doesn't come with an accidental side of gnats or other insects. Plus, the ziplock-style bag is super convenient for clean storage and keeping pests out between uses. After using it for a month, it's clear this mix really helps with strong root development and growth.

Works very well, my herbs have grown big, still got some gnats though

This is a bit expensive in terms of soil, but if you’re looking for an organic soil that will be very healthy for your plants, this will work. I got the herb version.

Their packaging is very nice looking and unlike other brands I’ve purchased, it didn’t shed soil on the ground as I took it inside.

The soil looked great upon opening. I was intimidated to try my hand at herbs, but I purchased some cilantro, sage, and Thai basil that was already about six inches high. I also purchased cilantro seeds, but wasn’t expecting much there.

The herbs have loved this soil and have grown so fast. Even the seeds sprouted, which was surprising. They have all grown hearty, even as I harvested the cilantro and basil for cooking. The basil even surprised me by sprouting beautiful little purple flowers that looked like tiny orchids!

Sadly no pictures because I forgot to water the plants yesterday and it was unexpectedly very hot today so they’re a bit wilted and a photo wouldn’t do justice to how well this soil works.

The one thing it didn’t do was deter gnats. I’m hesitant to grow anything that I can’t layer a half inch of sand on top to keep gnats at bay. I couldn’t do that with these herbs because the seedlings wouldn’t be able to come up. The gnats have come. They’re not out of control, but a bit annoying. I have some food-safe essential oil I spray on the plants and that does the trick, but hopefully that doesn’t alter the taste.

But other than that, I can recommend this soil.…
