Biochar is a horticultural charcoal that increases nutrient retention, hosts beneficial microbes, and stores carbon in the soil.

Worm Castings are nutrient-rich organic matter produced by worms that provide plants with essential nutrients.

Mycorrhizae are beneficial fungi that form a symbiotic relationship with plant roots, allowing the plants to absorb more nutrients.

Kelp Meal is an ingredient made from seaweed that delivers a rich array of nutrients and offers a sustainable alternative to chemical fertilizers

Compost helps reduce waste in landfills by turning green waste and wood waste into a useful source of nutrients for plants.

Bokashi is a composting method that converts plant waste into a microbially active, nutrient-dense soil enhancer through active fermentation.

COVERAGE AREA

Feeds ~6 plants for 3 months

FEED

On watering day, top dress your plants by sprinkling a small handful (~½ cup) of Plant Food around the base of your plant.

WATER

Water your plant as usual, which will help the beneficial nutrients and microbes travel to the roots.

REPEAT

Houseplants: repeat these steps once a month

Herbs and Flowers: repeat every two weeks

RE-POT

Repotting day is also a great time for an extra boost. Add a large handful (~1 cup) to the base of the roots prior to planting.

At Rosy, our entire supply chain has a net neutral carbon footprint!

FAQs

Peat moss has been a common ingredient in commercial potting mixes since the 1960s. However, it's obtained by extracting peat bogs, which are vital ecosystems that store carbon. At Rosy, we believe there's a better way. So, we've developed our blends with alternatives that are effective and sustainable.

Rosy’s blends are all-natural, peat free, and made from biochar.

We’ve consciously sourced our ingredients not only because they’re great for your plants but also because they’re good for our planet

Unlike traditional potting soil ingredients that are environmentally taxing, our biochar potting mix only contains natural and carbon-negative amendments.

Read additional information about Our Mission.

We use carbon-negative, organic ingredients to create the best indoor plant potting mix.

Typically, these organic materials are sent to a landfill, where they release methane and CO2 — two potent greenhouse gases. But by redirecting these organic materials from landfills and stabilizing their carbon structure, we prevent the release of those greenhouse gases.

Essentially, we turn our soil into a carbon sink, which means it helps to remove CO2 from the atmosphere.

Works pretty well for my new rose bushes 🌹

I ordered this because we just planted 3 new rose bushes and I wanted to enrich my soil to help ensure my roses thrive. I applied this soil almost two weeks ago and my roses are ALL thriving after adding this around the top of my garden bed around my rose bushes. My roses are looking much better and healthier. All three rose bushes have several new buds that have started to sprout and I'm excited to see it come to full blossom. Our climbing rose bush is the one that needed the most extra care and it has already started growing a few new leaves and the beginning of new rose buds. My roses all seem to be flourishing with this plant fertilizer soil. Would absolutely recommend!!

For reference my shining moment rose bush was in the ground for close to two months before I added this around the base. My sweet fragrance and yellow climbing rose bushes were planted around 2 weeks before adding this soil. All of my roses have sprouted a surprising amount of buds since I added this soil. I'm very impressed with this soil. I simply sprinkling it around the base of my rose bushes and within 1-2 weeks I saw noticeable growth. I'm very happy with this fertilizer sold and would absolutely recommend it!

Smells like moist rich earth. NPK is only 1.12-0.22-0.64, though

I'm adding so many things to my plants I'm not sure what's doing what, but I certainly like the look and smell of this. It does occur to me it may not be a great idea to stick your nose in the bag and smell this, what with the fungi and all...

I like the added mycorrhizae, kelp and biochar, as these are items not present in some of my other soil amendments.

As a fertilizer, it's fine for plants that don't require much in the way of nutrients, such as most herbs. For vegetables, though, I don't think it has enough NPK. The NPK is only 1.12-0.22-0.64.

Easy to use

Many people don't know that plants need food too, not just water. This soil is very nice and loose, allowing for airflow and preventing compaction. Kelp and worm castings are like super food for plants.

To use, just sprinkle on top of your existing soil and water in. I used some of it for the fruit shrubs growing outside.

Awesome!

This is a next-level, all-natural plant food. It is made by a great company which formulates carefully and is concerned with the health of plants and the entire environment. Although it is called "Rosy Soil", it can be used for almost any plant, including house plants, other flowers, and cacti and succulents. I also use it on random bushes and shrubs, and they all seem happy. You sprinkle a small handful at the base of the plant and water as usual, no sprayer required. Highly recommended.

Great for raised beds

I've been using this as a soil amendment in my raised beds this summer and it definitely made a difference. I got a ton of tomatoes and peppers and my cauliflower and collard greens are huge and vibrant green. It has directions but I just grab handfuls and spread it around the base of the plants, then gently work it into the soil at a frequency of about once a month. I'm very happy with the results. It's a great soil health rejuvenator.

Great combo of biochar, kelp, and worm castings

As someone who has produced my own worm castings, and found it just too much work for what I could produce, this fertilizer is just the thing, and a great combo of biochar, kelp, and worm castings. I've been using it on a flower hybrid that just was not doing well this year. It's not yet fully recovered, but now it's blooming like crazy. I'm also using it on a desert plant that is doing a little better. I especially love the sustainable commitments by this brand, and that the fertilizer is microbially active.

Seems pretty good, expansive list of ingredients

The bag isn't that big, so it's a potting soil amendment/supplement and not something to be used as potting soil by itself. It has a good list of ingredients for things that should help plants grow quite well. The NPK numbers are small (less than 1) but it's not a fertilizer, so if you have fast growing plants that are heavy feeders, you'll likely need additional fertilization beyond just using this.

I'm using this to top dress some indoor plants and herbs in the garden. Seems to be doing pretty well so far.
